![]() When the keys are laying on a surface it is way easier if you have the curved part of the hanger bent to lay flat on the surface with them, then you can slide it right under your key ring and a little 90 degree turn and you snag them. Whatever side the keys are on is the side you need to enter from. Same method applies exept for suttle differencess. with bending the coathanger around the keychain has allowed me to pull my keys threw without even having a wedge they will hold with enuf force that it will push the window out on its own to come threw. ONCE YOU HAVE THEM BE CARFUL AND TAKE YOUR TIME, once you get them to the window bend the coathanger closed around your keys (this will prevent them from falling when you try to pull them threw the windshield. #Locked my keys in my car trial#This will take some trial and error some playing with the bends but eventually you will get it to where you can wrap the coathanger around the keys. take your 1st coathanger and bend it according to your desired needs, then straigten the second coathanger all the way out, connect the two coathangers together so that you will have the extra length you need to reach the keys from the passenger side. the way to do this is use the screwdriver to pry the window out and then stick your wedge in the hold it. OK, to get your keys out of the ignition you need to enter for the PASSENGER side window. #Locked my keys in my car how to#I will go ahead and make a little tutorial on how to get your keys out with a coathanger LOL by the location in the carġ wedge type device, handle side of a second screwdriver will suffice. ![]() Sorry could not resist I have locked my keys up so much I have came up with some pretty interesting ways to get into cars. TIPS FOR THE COATHANGER METHOD FROM A PRO!!! LOL this is just for humor but it works One more thing, I've had this car for 12 years and only have one set of keys for it, isn't that crazy? All my car keys are on seperate chains so now I'm going to get another door key made and keep it with me to prevent this in the future. I have a rule that I keep a spare door key of any car I'm driving on my keychain with my house keys. So after all this I just put the car in the garage, it doesn't deserve to go to work tomorrow, BAD CAR! Well I'm sort of the impaitent type so back to the shop I go and I find a piece of transmission cooling line so back to the car I go armed with my new tool and after some bending I'm able to pop the lock and get into the car.to be treated with trans fluid all over the seat and door panel, seems there was some fluid left in the line.oops:lookinup: Now I'm cussing and as I swing my flashlight at the window to break it my wife (I love her) stops me and goes to call her mom to see if we can use her Triple A, I can't leave my car in the yard with the keys in it, now can I? Of course they are under the seat, whos going to see them. When I get them to the window, I have a paint brush jammed in there to hold the window, and as I try to move the paint brush it moves the hanger and the keys fall UNDER the seat. I can see my keys in the back between the seats so I start bending the coat hanger 100 different ways to get the hook back there and after some doing I actually hook the keys and start to retrieve them. After fiddling with that for a bit and figuring out it just bends when I push the lock button I get all Pirates of the Carribean on it. ![]() I get to the car and pry the window open a little and fish the coat hanger in there. As I get out I grab my keys and go to my truck and grab my work keys and walk back to the car and throw them in and close the door, that's about the time I realize my car keys were in that hand too.:laughing:Īfter realizing what I've done I go to the house and get a coat hanger and then to the shop (I didn't want to open) to get a flashlight. ![]() I Took the car out tonight and when I get home I park it in the yard as I plan on driving it to work tomorrow and don't want to hassle with opening and closing the shop. ![]()
